Certificates of Origin and EUR.1
Certificates of origin document where goods were manufactured. They are crucial for preferential treatment and are required by the importing country.
Types of Proof of Origin
There are different proofs of origin depending on purpose:
- Non-preferential certificate: Chamber of Commerce, pure origin proof
- EUR.1 / EUR-MED: Preferential origin for duty advantages
- Origin declaration: For authorized exporters on invoice
- A.TR: Movement certificate for Turkey
EUR.1 Certificate
EUR.1 is the most common preferential proof. It is stamped by customs and certifies preferential origin.
- Valid for single shipments
- Must be applied for BEFORE export
- Valid 12 months from issue date
