HS Code for Drones (UAV/UAS)
Drones and multicopters are classified differently depending on intended use and equipment. Classification affects duty rates and possible import restrictions.
Consumer Drones with Camera
Most hobby and prosumer drones (DJI Mini, Mavic, etc.) are classified as:
- CN 8525 81 19 – Television cameras, digital cameras and video recorders
- Duty rate: 0% (duty-free!)
- Reasoning: The essential character is the camera function

Simple drones without camera or with very simple camera, mainly for play:

Professional/Industrial Drones
Drones for commercial applications without primary camera function:

- Duty rate: 2.7%
